The VW Beetle is a car. VW stands for the brand Volkswagen. The VW Beetle was developed by Porsche starting in 1934. Porsche developed the car for Adolf Hitler. But the Beetle was not built in large numbers until after the Second World War.

The model of the VW Beetle shown here is an early model. The model still has a split rear window. The rear window is also known as the pretzel window. The rear window was on every VW Beetle until 1953.
