Vermelha armchair
This is a part of a chair.
The chair is made of red rope.
Knots hold the rope to the chair.
The chair is very comfortable.
Note: The text is about a touch object in the X-D-E-P-O-T. The touch object looks a little different from the original object. The text matches the touch object.
The chair has the name: Vermelha. Vermelha is Portuguese and means: Red. The chair has 3 legs.
The seat and the back are made of red cotton rope. The rope is about 500 metres long. The rope is tied with knots to a metal frame. It looks random how the rope is placed on the chair. But there is an exact plan for it. The ropes lie in many layers on top of each other. This makes the chair soft and very comfortable. The idea for the chair came from the designers Fernando and Humberto Campana. They are brothers and come from the country Brazil.
The Vermelha chair has been available since 1998. The Edra company in Italy makes it. One employee always makes it alone. It takes him about 1 week of work to make one chair.
