The Buba was designed by Simon Busse and Kostas Medugorac (back then: Studio Dipol) and it is ideally adapted to children’s needs. The plastic material can be wiped clean, is durable, light, and can be recycled. In industry, it is also used for shock absorbers and owing to its dampening properties reduces noise. The chair is suitable for indoor and outdoor purposes and can be used in three different positions: first as a seat (its height makes it suitable for children aged three and older); laid on the backrest it functions as a stool with the seating area two centimeters higher; and thirdly when tipped forward children can straddle it and use the backrest as a table. Several chairs combined create seating units, labyrinths, and walls. The striking name is also ingenious: “Bubamara” means ladybird and is a Croatian nickname. In this way, the name of Kostas Medugorac’s aunt has forever been linked to the kids’ chair.
