– Another lift is located at the entrance on Barer Straße. It leads exclusively to the basement of the Museum of Design. This lift is operated by staff only. Please report to the information desk.

Directions for people with visual impairment

from the bus stop “Pinakotheken” in Gabelsbergerstraße (coming from the main station with line 58 or 100):

The entrance to the Pinakothek der Moderne is at your back. So walk about 10 metres against the direction of traffic to the intersection with Barer Straße. There, cross Gabelsbergerstraße to the right. The traffic lights are not yet equipped with detection and clearance tones. You must follow the parallel traffic.

Continue straight ahead on Barer Straße. After about 100 metres, the entrance to the Pinakothek der Moderne is on your right.

Walk between the bollards and follow the path for about 50 metres to the entrance door. You may encounter a step, a wall projection on the right and several columns on your way. If you are walking on gravel, you are too far to the left. A tactile guidance system is not yet in place.

RETURN to the bus stop “Pinakotheken” in Theresienstraße (in the direction of the main station with line 58, 100):

Walk along the path from the entrance to Barer Straße. There, turn right until you reach the intersection with Theresienstraße. Cross Theresienstraße straight ahead. Then cross Barer Straße to the left and follow Theresienstraße for about 20 metres to the bus stop.
The traffic lights at the crossing are equipped with additional devices for blind people. However, there is only vibration, no enabling sound.
