Selection. Ron Arad
With his designs for companies such as Kartell, Vitra, Driade, Moroso or Alessi, and with his architectural works (including the National Design Museum in Holon, Israel, which opened in January, 2010) Ron Arad is now one of the world’s leading designers. Aluminum or plastic, “studio pieces” as one-offs or editions, hand-crafted, ready-made or product design – the sheer range of Ron Arad’s oeuvre covers the broadest number of different aspects of architecture, art and design. Not least, the outstanding awards, including his appointment as Royal Designer for Industry (RDI), and his long-standing professorship at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna (1994-1997) and at the Royal College of Art in London (1997-2009) attest to the impact and reach of his activity.
