The museum is located near the main railway station in the interior of a road block between Luitpoldstraße, King Street and Frauentormauer in the Nuremberg Old Town. With this building, the architect Volker Staab agreed the sympathies of the visitors and the recognition by the international architectural criticism. So sensitive to the building in the medieval city structure is inserted, so self-conscious modernity shows Staab: clear, transparent and diverse.
